Bitte: dieser Artikel ist ausschließlich und nur für die zweieinhalb Leser, die sich für Secondlife und insbesondere das Segment ~~Sex und Gewalt für Senioren~~ der Gor-Rollenspieler interessieren. Also ist das hier – angesichts der aktuellen Weltlage und ihrer langhaarigen Helden – nicht nur irrelevant, sondern auch komplett überflüssig. Nur für mich nicht.

Warum? Die monatliche Zeitung, die ausschließlich „inworld“ gratis zu haben ist, erscheint seit mehr als 15 Jahren. Ich kann es selbst kaum glauben, obwohl ich der Herausgeber bin. Aktuell ist die Ausgabe 364! Sollte ich darauf stolz sein? Ein bisschen schon. Sie hat rund 2000 Leser, das ist mehr als mein Blog.

Vielleicht will der eine Leser (die anderen eineinhalb Leser sind schon weggezappt) wissen, was darin steht? Vergiss es – du würdest das nicht verstehen. Das letzte Editorial zum Beispiel:

Die „Zeitung“ ist „physisch“ nur eine so genannte Notecard, also eine Textdatei, in die man aber andere Texte, Bilder (auf die man aber erst klicken muss, um sie zu sehen) oder so genannte „Landmarks“ hineindröseln kann. Die Landmarks teleportieren den Avatar bei einem Mausklick darauf zu der gewünschten Sim, also einem Environment für Spieler. Die Zeitung publiziert bei jedem Erscheinen eine Liste aller Spielorte für die Gor-Community. Es gibt also zur Zeit knapp 170 Gor-Sims. Das ist mit Abstand die größte Rollenspiel-Community in Secondlife.

Der „Leitartikel“ der Ausgabe 364 handelt davon:

TRENDS AND TENDENCIES

As you can see from the sim list, we have lost Sais and Thentis. Instead, there are now three Port Kars. I don’t know what people are thinking. The Port Kar, consisting of five sims, had been planned for a long time and was already under construction when suddenly another one opened… But: A cluster of five sims is already a statement to the competition. I’ll take bets on which Port Kar will survive. Hear, hear, Harry Horchester!

I have to admit that I haven’t played in Thentis for a long time. There’s a reason for that: Nobody will ever force me to use OOC things like huds to buy black wine beans. With all due respect, I think that’s bosk shit.

Nevertheless, it is very unfortunate that we no longer have a Thentis sim. This situation occurred years ago. Back then, The Soaring Herlit took on the role of Thentis and traded in black wine beans. I’ll bet that there will soon be smugglers of black wine beans. The prices will definitely rise to an immeasurable level.

The Genesian Port cluster has shrunk again. Port Andros has been eliminated and is now opening its own sim under the name Aretium. I think that’s wrong because clusters offer more possibilities, especially since Aretium no longer has a port. People complain that the GP cluster offers no advantages because only OOC events are offered anyway. Not my business, I’m just the messenger. Everyone has to research that for themselves.

Very good news is that Rarn, the city of copper has opened on the Olni cluster. Rarn is as important for copper as Thentis is for silver. Unfortunately, Olni had bad luck with other cities like Ti and Vonda and they were closed again. Gosh, the memories: The new Rarn is on the last remaining sim of the old Vonda (Gildred Roses, Vonda closed 14 years ago, the last Rarn closed 10 years ago.)

Port Victoria, the headquarters of the Vosk League, is closed. I heard a rumor that a new one is being built. But the sim that was supposed to take place on is for sale. It will be interesting to see what happens. Victoria is important for the entire Vosk region. If anyone plans to open a port/sim on the Vosk, it should be Victoria./i>

Which cities are we missing in particular? Treve (you need a group of warriors for that, otherwise it won’t work). City of Tor: the most important city on the edge of the Tahari! Tor was one of the oldest sims ever. Turia – but the previous ruler of Turia is unfortunately in the open grid. Brundisium – the largest port in Thassa and the gateway to the Outer Islands and the Pani and maybe also Mytilyne (the sim exists!) My advice: before opening another sim with a fantasy name, you should choose one that is well known. Just my 20 copper tarsk bits.

Es gibt noch einige Zeitungen in Secondlife, die sich des Themas „Gor“ annehmen – und übrigens zwei Radiosender! Die Gazette of Gor erscheint nur online. Daneben haben einige Sims sogar eigene kleine Zeitungen, die aber nur sporadisch herauskommen und schwer zu bekommen sind.
