Against Dog-Whistle-ism

„Slate Star Codex“ (via Fefe) erklärt, wie genormte Medien funktionieren („the entire media, which seized upon it as a single mass“) und warum Begriffe jeweils etwas anderes bedeuten, je nachdem, wer sie benutzt. Man könnte auch sagen: Er haut die „political correctness“ der Mainstream-Sprache in die Pfanne.

Der Artikel erklärt auch, warum deutsche Medien bei Trump oft falsch liegen. „Saying things that sound like dog whistles has itself become the crime worthy of condemnation, with little interest in whether they imply anything about the speaker or not.“

By the way – das Motto des „Slate Star Codex“ gilt auch hier und für Burks‘ Blog: „I really want to be one of those people with the neat one-subject blogs who can introduce themselves as “the guy with the blog about X”, but the universe is way too interesting for that to remotely work.“
