They didn’t quite do slavery here or: Not really that accurate

Sorry, bei der gegenwärtigen Nachrichtenlage brauch ich immer etwas zum Lachen, als Ausgleich. Trockener britischer Humor eignet sich hervorragend dafür (hier sogar US-amerikanischer). The Independent:
Staying with family and friends, the artist and photographer made his way to London, Oxford, Cornwall and Leicestershire taking in what the country has to offer visitors. While some of his observations – like thinking Cornwall is a country and that „Black people are just people: they didn’t quite do slavery here“ are not really that accurate – he got some other stuff spot on, namely:
– Cake is one of the major food groups
– Almost everyone is very polite
– The food is generally outstanding
– There are no guns
– There are too many narrow stairs
– Everything is just a little bit different.

Das gefällt mir auch: 5,000 years ago, someone arranged a lot of rocks all over, but no one is sure why. (…) When the sign says something was built in 456, they didn’t lose the “1”. (…) Soccer is a religion, religion is a sport.

Ich musste Tränen lachen.

    – Avoid British wine and French beer
    – Cider (alcoholic) is quite good.
