Die Volksrepublik China hat das Basismodul der geplanten Weltraumstation ins All geschossen. Da ich gern recht habe und behalte, verweise ich auf einen Telepolis-Artikel, den ich vor 18 Jahren geschrieben habe: „Es dürfte keine falsche Vorhersage sein, wenn man behauptet, dass China in wenigen Jahren die Raumfahrernation Russland überholt haben wird. Und auch die USA werden Probleme haben, im Prestigeduell, wer wo im Kosmos territoriale Duftmarken setzt, immer die Nase vorn zu haben.“

Die USA hatten in ihrer grenzenlosen, aber unsubstantiierten Arroganz vor zehn Jahren beschlossen, keine Kosmonauten aus China auf die internationale Raumstation zu lassen. „Initially, China’s five-year-old space agency was viewed as too young and inexperienced to offer any useful contributions to the International Space Station. Soon after the Chinese developed their own space stations and sent astronauts to space to visit them, it became clear that this wasn’t the case.“ Wahrscheinlich haben die sich gesagt: Wir sollen zu unerfahren sein? Dann bauen wir den Scheiß eben selbst. Hold my Maotai!

Popular Science schreibt: „And if it continues its pace, China will launch its experimental Tiangong-2 space lab later this year, followed by a crew that will dock there and test technologies critical for building a permanent manned outpost in orbit. The first module of that outpost—Tiangong-3—is China’s highest- profile project. It is expected to lift off in 2022, marking a new era of Chinese space research. Tiangong-3 will be able to support three taikonauts, in addition to a bevy of scientific research. Notably, CNSA has already rolled out the welcome mat to other countries, offering the opportunity to place experiments, and astronauts, aboard.“

Ich hoffe doch, dass ich noch erlebe, wie Chinesen auf dem Mond landen und eine Raumstation mit Taikonauten bemannen (sic!). Die „Grünen“ werden vermutlich behaupten, das sei dann gar keine Raumstation, sondern ein ausbruchssicheres Gefängnis für islamische Terroristen Uiguren.
